The funding for the beach restoration project is completely in place. Many thanks to Representative Halsey Beshears and Senator Bill Montford. The County’s portion and the MSTU portion is in the bank. So now, it is not a matter of if, but of when. Permitting has taken longer than expected due to all of the government agencies involved.
Unfortunately, because of the 90 day lapse with USFWL, it now appears that the earliest moving of sand will be sometime around October. The County, the CCA and our consultants, MRD Associates continue to work aggressively to make this a reality sooner rather than later. I will keep you updated as I receive additional information.
